10 new things coming to Ionic 5

Recently, the Ionic team released a video talking about new stuff coming up to Ionic 5. Here’s 10 new things coming soon to Ionic 5 based on the conversation:

1. Over 1100 new icons in Ionic 5 vs 600 in Ionic 4
2. Supporting design changes in Android and iOS, example, refresher
3. Ability to modify native components, exposing some parts of shadow DOM to developer
4. Ionic Animations native UI component, using web animations, using less overall power consumption
5. Ionic Gestures native UI component, touch, swipe back, slide open, long press
6. Large title and collapsible headers, for iOS
7. Changing attributes to class for all attributes, example <ion-content text-center> becomes <ion content class= “ion-text-center”>
8. Angular 9 changes will come incrementally over 2020 promisinh faster build time and server side rendering!
